Sinéad O'Connor was born in Dublin, Ireland on December 8, 1966. She started her musical career in 1984, fronting the band Ton Ton Macoute. When her mother died in 1985, Sinéad O'Connor left the band and moved to London. She soon released her debut solo album ‘The Lion and the Cobra’ in 1987, which went on to sell over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Her second album, ‘I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got” (1990) became the Irish singer’s biggest hit to date. The critically-acclaimed album sold 7 million copies worldwide and gave the singer a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Performance.
